About Frey

Hello! I’m Frey, and I have been a creative and digital marketer for the past five years while engaging with visual content creation for over a decade. I have always seen food, something very close to my heart, as more of a performance rather than sustenance. Therefore, I embody the marriage between my two passions: food and photography.

As a true Singaporean and avid traveler, I grew up in a melting pot of cultures and peoples. I am a self-taught photographer who strongly believes in continuous improvement, which is why I am often participating in workshops, courses, and trainings to learn new styles so I can offer my clients the latest in the space. By expanding my areas of mastery, I also provide product photography that is tastefully distinctive and evolving. I try to escape orthodoxy and inject inspired experimental techniques to heighten the vibrant and multidimensional experience of the cuisine.

As an unwavering admirer of the culinary process, I throw myself into capturing the quintessential transformation of ingredients into a finished plate. I offer a wide range of inspirational mood boards to work from while remaining true to the demands of food photography concerning styling, design, and presentation. I have worked with The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore, Le Petit Depot, O’Coffee Club, Entrance Bar & Restaurant, and Mia Tavola, while my work has featured on Honeycombers, Tatler Dining, and Prestige. I treat each new project uniquely and try to build artistic coherence depending on whether it is street food, fine dining, or something in the middle.

When I am not involved with projects, you can find me drinking Negroni, learning Spanish and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and exposing myself to new cultures, cuisines, and music.

I am always thrilled to chat about new projects and can be reached at: frey@freysohphotography.com
